Fashion Critic's Milan Shopping Report - Part 2, Viktor & Rolf Boutique

While I am not a big fan of Viktor & Rolf's designs (I do like some of their women's, not so much men's), I can appreciate the quirkiness they sometimes put into their work. Their first boutique in the world is no exception. One can't help but smile at the pure simplicity and ingenuity of the concept. They basically turned the whole interior upside down! The parquet "floor" is on the ceiling, with some chairs attached to it. Even the small TV showing V&R's fashion shows is upside down. It makes you involanterily twist your neck. The store itself is tiny, and selection is limited, but it's just a fun place to be in.

Here are some pictures I took.

Fashion Critic's Milan Shopping Report - Part I, 10 Corso Como

So, I was in sunny Italy last week, and yes, it was amazing. I flew into Milan and explored it a little, before heading out to Tuscany. I snapped a few pictures of the more interesting Milan stores - this is part 1. My hotel was just around the corner from the most famous, and by far the best store in Milan - 10 Corso Como. It was a pure coincidence, of course...

I loved the store. It's really a charming playground with separate floors devoted to a well edited men's (Ann Demeulemeester, CDG, Junya Watanabe, Raf Simons, Dior Homme, NDC Made by Hand) and women's (Alaia, Biba, CDG, Chloe, Balenciaga) designer clothes, perfume, a book store, a photo gallery (it was hosting World Press Photo exhibition nonetheless!), a cafe, and even a 3 room hotel! Definitely one of the best stores I've seen... and I've seen lots.

Skinny Jeans - Not Sick of Them Yet?

I know I am, especially on guys, and especially after New York Times reports on it. Not only that, the article actually got on the most e-mailed list - that's how you know it's over. Sorry, but it's hard to get pass the 80's hairy rocker thing - like it or not. There are very few who do it well. But, if you have to do it, PLEASE don't wear them with frigging dress shirts, or ANYTHING tucked in, like that New York Times photo shows.
